A news release, media release, press release, or press statement is a written or recorded communication directed at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing something claimed as having news value. Typically, it is mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to assignment editors at newspapers, magazines, radio stations, television stations, and/or television networks.1
CLEARFIELD, UTAH, May 6, 2009 – It’s two o’clock in the afternoon, the sun beats down, and directly across from you, holding the ball, is the undefeated tetherball champion of your school or camp. A crowd gathers. You serve; he returns. Then, you hit the ball at an angle he can’t possibly defend. Victory and childhood fame are yours. The bell sounds, recess is over or the summer ends, and the game is forgotten—until now.
With the new, portable, at-home Tetherball System from Lifetime Products, tetherball lovers and champions can relive their glory days in their own yards.

Designed with homeowners in mind, the Tetherball System from Lifetime Products is the first portable system packaged in just one box, and doesn’t require a cement slab for setup, so it won’t create a permanent footprint in the yard. Instead, the base sits above ground and can be weighted for safety and durability with sand or water. The Lifetime Tetherball System is quick to set up and easily rolls to any space on the lawn or driveway for convenient play during family barbeques, tournaments with friends and neighbors, or lazy afternoons.
With an eight-inch, soft-touch regulation ball and 100-inch tall pole, the Tetherball System from Lifetime Products is safe for children ages six and up, and can handle the aggressive play of even a former schoolyard champion. Additionally, the tetherball system is designed to stand up to year-round weather conditions: the high-density polyethylene base resists cracking, peeling and chipping, and the rust-resistant pole stands up to precipitation and sprinkler systems.
Lifetime’s Tetherball Systems are made in the USA and come with a five-year limited warranty. They have a suggested retail price of $129.99 and are available online at Lifetime.com. For more information on Tetherball Systems from Lifetime Products, visit Lifetime.com.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (May 6, 2009) ¬ Lifetime Products Inc., the worldwide leader in the blow-molded folding table and chair market, announced today that it has obtained a Court Order granting its Emergency Ex Parte Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction against several manufacturers, competitors to Lifetime in the folding table and chair market. The Court Order was granted in the Federal District Court for the District of Nevada.
Lifetime discovered the infringements while attending this year’s National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Court ordered that the Defendants; Ningbo Wanxiang Plastics Products Co., LTD; Ningbo Step-Forward Imp. & Exp. Co., LTD; Hangzhou Dali Tools Packing Co., LTD; Zhejiang Bestem Furniture Co., LTD and Ningbo Step-Forward Industry Corp., all Chinese corporations, their officers, agents, servants, employees, attorneys and all other persons in active concert or participation with them are temporarily restrained from displaying, offering to sell or selling the accused table and chairs.
The patent enforcements cover many of Lifetime’s more popular table and chair products. The list includes 18 patents covering personal tables, sport tables, fold-in-half tables, standard folding tables and folding chairs.
Lifetime continues to evaluate the conduct of other competitors as well, and Lifetime will proceed aggressively against those who Lifetime determines are infringing upon the valuable intellectual property interests embodied in Lifetime's line of folding tables.

Lifetime expanded its blow-molding technology in 1998 by introducing the first blow-molded polyethylene folding banquet table. Today, Lifetime is the world's largest manufacturer of these polyethylene top folding tables.

CLEARFIELD, UTAH (February 12, 2009) – Lifetime Products, Inc. has been named a 2009 Exporter of the Year award winner by ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Commerce Department.
The Clearfield, Utah is a world leader in the design and manufacture of affordable lifestyle products such as outdoor tables, chairs, storage sheds, backyard play systems, trailers, and sports equipment for basketball such as in-ground and portable goals and related equipment.
“We’re pleased to receive this award,” said Sean Brophy, Lifetime Vice President of International Sales. “Exporting has added diversity to our revenue stream and at the same time it has established Lifetime as a global player in all of our product segments.”
Currently, 16 percent of the company’s revenue is generated through export sales, and exports have grown 9 percent in the most recent sales year. Currently, Lifetime exports to 44 countries and enjoys strong distributor relationships. The company has sales offices in Xiamen, China, Mexico City and in Europe, and has production facilities in China and Mexico.
“Exports are a huge part of our plan to become more diversified,” said Vince Rhoton, Lifetime Senior Vice President for sales and marketing. “Years ago, we set a healthy goal to have exports represent 10 percent of our total sales. We have surpassed that and are on our way to doubling it. We have accomplished that by reorganizing our sales department and creating a sales category focused specifically on export sales. Many members of our sales staff are bilingual, which adds an international flair to our sales efforts, and we are committed to attending industry trade shows and to international travel.”
Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine with an estimated 400,000 readers in 176 countries worldwide. Awards are given to one U.S. company in each of 15 industry categories. Privately held Lifetime Products, Inc. was named Exporter of the Year in the Consumer Goods category. All Exporter of the Year award winners will be profiled in the May-June 2009 issue of the magazine.
Winners were chosen based on the total number of documented export transactions completed in 2007, the total percentage increase in sales in 2007 compared to 2006, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting, the company’s commitment to customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, a company must currently be exporting from the United States.
Gregory Sandler, publisher of Commercial News USA, said that the success of Industrial Motion, Inc. is indicative of how American companies can benefit from exporting. “American companies looking for growth need to be considering opportunities outside of the U.S.,” said Sandler. “World markets offer considerable potential for U.S. exporters.”
Information about the Exporter of the Year awards, including profiles of all the winning companies, is available online at www.exporteroftheyear.com. The current issue of Commercial News USA is available online at www.thinkglobal.us.
Clearfield, Utah manufacturer captures prestigious honor over 11,400 other suppliers.
CLEARFIELD, UTAH (February 20, 2007) – Lifetime Products, Inc. has been named the Sam’s Club Mexico Supplier of the Year for 2006. The award was accepted by Lifetime’s Sam’s Club Mexico sales team of Brett Horstman, Tanner Nancollas and Sinahi Lopez at the Sam’s Mexico Club Year Beginning meeting in Mexico City.
“It was very satisfying to be in Mexico and see Brett, Tanner and Sinahi receive the Sam’s Club Mexico Supplier of the Year award,” said Vince Rhoton, Lifetime’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our annual volume increases certainly made a big impression, but the passionate approach to making sure we were in-stock and had all the logistics bases covered really showed what a great team we have in Mexico.”
Lifetime, headquartered in Clearfield, Utah, employs about 1,700 employees in Utah and over 2,200 worldwide. Lifetime provides a wide array of lifestyle products to Sam’s Club Mexico, including its highly successful line of tables and chairs, as well as basketball systems and outdoor storage sheds.
Productos Vitalicios, Lifetime’s Mexican corporation, was incorporated in Monterrey in 2004 and has seen amazing growth since its inception. Total sales for the account have increased by leaps and bounds since the first year. An increase of 41% came in 2005, and the Productos Vitalicios team nearly topped that in 2006 with a 39% increase. “We believe that our tremendous success in Mexico is due to the openness of the lines of communication and the willingness of both companies to learn about each other and work together,” Horstmann said.
Over one-half of a million products were shipped to Sam’s Mexico in 2006, and it took a strong relationship with the Sam’s Mexico buyers for Lifetime to capture this coveted honor. There are currently 11,400 suppliers that sell to Wal-Mart of Mexico, the parent company of Sam’s Club Mexico.
“The Sam’s buyers aggressively pushed all the right buttons to make our offering the best value in the country,” Rhoton said. “I’m really proud of our efforts in this huge market.”

CLEARFIELD, UTAH (July 29, 2002) – Say goodbye to staining your lawn furniture every summer. Say farewell to unwelcome splinters in your favorite outdoor bench. And, say so-long to rounding up four of your strongest neighbors every spring to help move your outdoor furniture from the garage to your deck. Win a Day of Garage Organization with Leslie Segrete, star of TLC’s While you Were Out
CLEARFIELD, UT (August 31, 2006) -- “Just put it in the garage for now,” may seem like a solution to cleaning and organizing the home. But does it make sense to have an immaculate home attached to a garage in shambles? The garage is just as much a part of the home as any other room and when used as a storage space for “everything else,” it can become more of a liability and an eyesore than a resource.
One tool for creating additional storage space for items that have been banished to the garage is a shed. Although some homeowners conjure images of leaky roofs and rusted nails, the use of modern design and innovative materials has eliminated many common problems associated with outdoor storage. This summer, Lifetime Products, the maker of outdoor sheds designed to withstand not only day-to-day wear and tear but also nature’s abuse is giving one person a wake-up call from his or her garage nightmare.
The winner of Lifetime’s search for “America’s Messiest Garage” will spend a day with home improvement celebrity Leslie Segrete, star of TLC’s While You Were Out. Along with a team of experts, Segrete will get the garage back in shape and leave behind a Lifetime shed and other essential tools so that the winner will have the necessary resources to keep the garage tidy and safe. Two runners-up will also receive new Lifetime sheds or a comparable dollar amount to spend at buylifetime.com.

CLEARFIELD, UTAH (August 26, 2006) – With the need for food donations very great during the summer months, the 1,600 Employees of Lifetime Products responded to the challenge and collected over 16,000 lbs. of food for the Utah Food Bank. The drive was the result of Lifetime challenging their employees to “Fill the Shed” during the month of August.
Lifetime had hoped to take the largest storage shed they manufacturer and fill it with food over a two week period in August. After the first day of the drive, the challenge quickly changed to “how many sheds can we fill.”
“Several employees throughout the company donated 200 or more pounds of food themselves,” said Denise Wandling, Lifetime’s Director of Human Resources. “Most of these individuals were production line employees and one employee in our fabrication division donated 400 pounds of food by herself.”
The food drive will benefit not only The Utah Food Bank, but also many Northern Utah support agencies. Catholic Community Services, the Family Connection Center, Ogden Area Community Action, The Salvation Army and God’s Pantry will all be receiving pallets of food collected by Lifetime.
Each organization will be picking up their pallets on Monday, August 28th between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Freeport Center, Bldg. D-7 in Clearfield. Richard Hendrickson, Lifetime’s president, will be manning the forklift that will be loading the food on each truck.
In addition to having employees bring food, money was collected by a variety of methods and used to buy additional items. Lifetime managers and supervisors went into Dan’s Food, Macey’s and Albertsons and negotiated lower prices on cases of food. Employees were given incentives to donate, and the drive was also turned into a competition among the different areas of Lifetime – each group responded.
“As a company, we funded a contest to help encourage donations,” said Hendrickson. “Our great employees came back to us and requested that the company give the money that would be spent to Sub for Santa. This goes to show you that the success of this food drive comes from our employee’s hearts.”

As life progresses we strive to acquire items of all shapes and sizes. Some are useful and some…not so much. When we’ve used these items to their fullest potential, they get sent to the last stop before the garbage -- the garage.
Some things can appropriately be stored in the garage: hand tools, sporting equipment and outdoor toys to name a few. What am I forgetting? Oh right—the car! The garage can be an amazing resource for the home but a messy garage will do nothing but frustrate, and it can even be dangerous. Give some of these garage organization tips a try and you and your car just might like the results.
Set a time for you and your family to tackle the mess of the garage together. Everyone in the home has some level of attachment to the items in there, so make it a group activity. If you are having a hard time getting the gang motivated, set a date in the local paper for a garage sale; nothing lights the fire of motivation more than a publicized deadline. Start by sorting through everything in the garage. Decide what you want to keep and place those items in one area of the yard. Create a separate area for things that still work but you don’t need anymore (those can be sold), and have a big trash bin for things that can’t be sold or donated.
Now that things are sorted, go through the “for sale” pile. Have the kids place stickers on personal items they’re selling and allow them to keep the money they earn. Whatever doesn’t sell during the garage sale can be donated to charity. Be sure to think outside the box with regard to donations. If you have extra paint or lumber that is in good shape, it can be donated it to a local community theater. Donations help our neighbors and offer tax deductions when given to non-profit agencies…it also just feels good to give.
3.Sort everything in the “keep” pile by its use. Create small piles of garden tools, sporting equipment, toys, holiday decorations, etc. You can even go so far as to sort those categories in to smaller piles (e.g. organize sporting equipment by specific sport). This will help you to become aware of the importance of each group of items and will ultimately help determine where they should go in the garage.
At this stage of the game (and not before), go out and buy the organizational tools that will best suit your needs. People often make the mistake of doing this first, which tends to result in money being wasted on unnecessary items. When purchasing hardware, remember to get lots of hooks so you can take advantage of the walls of your garage. Use them to hang garden tools, bikes, sports equipment, etc. With so many sizes and styles of hooks available, feel free to hang everything! Also don’t forget helpful things like pegboards, jars, cabinetry, etc.
5.On another wall, install shelving. This can be anything from actual bookcases to repurposed kitchen cabinets from a salvage yard or a recent remodel. Just be sure to have an area with doors so that certain items can be kept out of view and out of touch. Items stored in the garage can be heavy so anchor the storage unit well to avoid accidents. Remember to keep the heavier items on lower shelves and anything dangerous to children on a high-shelf or behind locked doors.
You’ve probably been storing some large, valuable items in the garage. Lawnmowers, power tools, snow blowers, and yard equipment are not only large investments that should be kept safe, but they can also be dangerous. If your garage is not locked properly you can easily have these big-ticket items stolen. In addition to the risk of theft, these items also need to be kept away from children’s curious fingers. Solve all of these concerns by placing these items in a separate structure like a Hillcrest Shed from Lifetime Products. This shed is not only extremely secure, but it will provide protection from the elements such as wind, rain and the sun. The best part is that moving these large items to a more appropriate place frees up lots of room for your car!
Before reloading the garage, thoroughly sweep and clean the floor. You can get rid of old oil stains with some cleaner and elbow grease. Once the floor is in good shape, either finish the concrete with an epoxy coating to make it durable, easy to clean, and stain resistant or apply appropriate flooring like rubber matting or garage floor tiles.
Now it’s time to put everything you’re keeping back in the garage. Organize everything in order of use and start to fill up your new shelving, hooks, and cabinetry. Place toys and sporting items in one area that is away from dangerous items and at a level where the smallest members of the family can grab them easily. Utilize your hooks and brackets to keep garden tools in one area and use small drawers or jars for nails, screws, and other small building materials. Keep your hand tools easily accessible on a pegboard above a work surface. Store your unused pots and planters upside down and on top of each other to make the best use of your space. Seasonal items not currently being used should be in an out-of-reach area and rotated into a more accessible area as the appropriate season comes around.
Remember to store all flammable items like spray paints, wood stains, and cleansers in a flameproof cabinet. I know it seems like overkill, but in case of emergency this will prove invaluable. When storing spare paint, pour a bit of each color into a small clear container and label it with the location of the larger container along with the color’s mix information. If you don’t want to hold onto the paint, call your local recycling department to find out how to properly dispose of it. You can easily dry out the left over paint in a can by filling it with kitty litter. It will absorb all the extra paint and make for a safe disposal.
Finally, keep up the good work. Schedule a weekend at least once a year to keep things in tiptop shape. Maintenance is always easier than the first major cleanup, so the hardest part is over!

Mario Batali and Lifetime Products, Inc. to Name a Tailgating Champion and Create a Party for 40,000
NEW YORK, NY (June 28, 2006) –NASCAR fans are gaining recognition as the country’s most devout tailgaters, with celebrations that often last for a week and include overflowing platters of homemade food, opulent decorations and remarkable spirit and pride. This was displayed in August 2005 when nearly 35,000 NASCAR fans turned out for The Tailgate of a Lifetime, a celebration hosted by Lifetime Products, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of folding tables and chairs — two must-haves for creating great tailgate set-ups. This year, The Tailgate of a Lifetime 2006 includes even more excitement: a competition to find “America’s Ultimate Tailgater,” the involvement of a major celebrity chef and once again, throngs of enthusiastic fans who will be doing what they love most… tailgating…NASCAR style!
-- A Tailgating Champion --
The Tailgate of a Lifetime 2006 will crown a tailgating champion through a nationwide search for America’s ultimate tailgaters. This contest will judge contestants on two aspects of their tailgates: the food they prepare and serve, and the NASCAR pride reflected in the décor and set-up of their tailgate parties. From entries received throughout the summer, five finalists will be selected in July, and on Saturday, August 19, they will face off at Michigan International Speedway. Contestants will be judged by celebrity chef, Mario Batali, who will be accompanied by Ernie Irvan, one of the top 50 NASCAR drivers of all time, as well as Richard Hendrickson, president of Lifetime Products, Inc. In addition to an all-expense paid trip for two to the competition, “America’s Ultimate Tailgater” will also go home with $10,000 cash and an ultimate tailgating prize pack from Lifetime Products, Inc.
-- NASCAR’s Ultimate Tailgate Party --
On the evening of August 19, following the NASCAR Busch Series Carfax 250, the day’s events will culminate when a projected 40,000 fans enjoy a massive tailgate party and concert along with Batali, Irvan and the newly named champion. In addition to the opportunity to sample signature tailgating recipes from Batali’s new book, Mario Tailgates NASCAR Style (Sporting News 2006), the tailgaters will also be treated to a complimentary performance by a top musical act.
-- The Spirit of NASCAR Tailgating --
Arriving up to a week before a major race, NASCAR tailgaters combine the fun of tailgating with the adventure of camping. Establishing temporary communities at speedways across the country, these fans prepare and share food and recipes and enjoy a fellowship that is uniquely American; all while watching drama unfold on the racetrack. In the second year of The Tailgate of a Lifetime, Lifetime Products, Inc. continues to celebrate this unique NASCAR pastime by sponsoring the larger-than-life tailgating celebration.
The Tailgate of a Lifetime will take place at Michigan International Speedway during its August race weekend. Both the championship and tailgate party will take place on Saturday, August 19, the day before the GFS Marketplace 400, a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Race. All ticket holders will be invited to attend both The Tailgate of a Lifetime Tailgating Championship and Tailgate Party and Concert. For more information, visit tailgateofalifetime.com.

“We immediately gave Lifetime a list of possible projects throughout the city – anywhere from assisting in cleaning up Fisher Park in the aftermath of the 4th of July Celebration, to helping build a concession stand at Barlow Park,” explained Tracy Heun, Clearfield’s Community Services Director.
The one project really stood out for Lifetime’s was Bicentennial Park and Amphitheatre at 650 S. 800 E. in Clearfield. On Saturday, June 3rd, from 8am – noon, 1,200 of Lifetime’s employees will converge on Bicentennial Park with rakes, weed whackers, paint brushes, shovels, paint scrapers, gloves and enthusiasm. And no employee will be left behind – even the President and CEO of Lifetime, Richard Hendrickson, will be at the park to help in the cleanup effort.
“This is such a great event for us and we are just thrilled to have found something like this within our own city of Clearfield,” said Richard Hendrickson, President of Lifetime. “I’ll be there side by side with our employees for a great project for a great city.”
The project was organized by Lifetime’s Values In Action committee, an employee-led committee that concentrates on building relationships, inspiring philanthropy, and promoting goodwill both inside and outside the company. This project will be the first of its kind for Lifetime and its employees.
Bicentennial Park, home of the city’s outdoor amphitheatre and located next to the Davis County Library – Clearfield branch, has a large hillside that needed weeding, trees and bushes that needed pruning, railing that needed to be repaired and painted, restrooms and picnic shelters needing fresh paint, re-establishing landscaping around the newly expanded stage and so on. Just enough projects to keep 1,200 employees busy on a Saturday morning!
Lifetime is not only donating manpower. They are also donating a large outdoor shed for which the Clearfield Parks department will use for storage.
“We really appreciate the enthusiasm and time that Lifetime’s employees are putting into this project. It will ultimately be the residents of Clearfield who will benefit from this project,” stated Heun.

45,000 NASCAR Fans Will Turn out to Tailgate Lifetime Style
CLEARFIELD, UT (June 20, 2005) – Often thought of as a tradition owned by college football and NFL fans, NASCAR fans are gaining supreme respect as the country’s most devout tailgaters. In 2005, nearly 45,000 screaming NASCAR fans turned out for The Tailgate of a Lifetime™, an event hosted by Lifetime Products, the maker of tailgating tables favored by avid tailgaters. In it’s second year, The Tailgate of a Lifetime will be even bigger with the addition of a large-scale tailgating championship, the involvement of a major celebrity chef and once again, hoards of enthusiastic NASCAR fans that will be spending up to a week tailgating.
Arriving several days before a major race, NASCAR tailgaters combine the fun of tailgating with the adventure of camping at speedways across America during race events. Establishing temporary communities, these fans prepare and share food and recipes, play games and enjoy a fellowship that is uniquely American; all while watching drama unfold on the racetrack. Each great tailgater has his or her own secrets and tips that have been perfected over the years, and now there is a place to go for all the information necessary to pull off a perfect tailgate.
Lifetime Products, Inc., the maker of folding tables that are a favorite amongst tailgaters, has created www.tailgateofalifetime.com, a comprehensive website for all things tailgate. From recipes and grills to decorations, stadium policies and safety information, this website is a one-stop resource for everyone from novices to pros. A visit to the website will also help a new charity devoted to raising awareness about a silent epidemic.
Traumatic Brain Injury will see 1.4 million new incidences this year alone and NASCAR legend Ernie Irvan is launching a new charity, Race 2 Safety, as a means to raise awareness about this injury that ended his career. He can’t race anymore, but Ernie still participates by doing something equally as important to NASCAR; tailgating. For the first 25,000 people that enter their names at www.tailgateofalifetime.com, Lifetime will donate $1 to Race 2 Safety.
One thing that all avid tailgaters agree upon is creating a tailgating space that celebrates the drivers, teams and personalities that they support. Lifetime makes this easier for fans by introducing tailgating tables. These tables are sized for easy transport in the car, van or RV and come branded with colors and images specific to some of NASCAR’s biggest drivers, like #20 (Tony Stewart) and #24 (Jeff Gordon) and also to some of the country’s leading college football teams including The University of Michigan, Penn State, University of Washington and many others. Like all Lifetime products, these new tailgating tables are lightweight, portable, stain-resistant and easy to clean, further simplifying the tailgating process.
The Tailgate of a Lifetime will take place immediately following the Domino’s Pizza 250 at the Michigan International Speedway on August 20, 2005. This is the evening before the GFS Marketplace 400, a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Race. All ticket holders will be invited to attend the event, which will offer free pizza for the first 15,000 fans. Also, in the true spirit of tailgating, fans are welcome to bring their own favorite foods for themselves, or to share. As attendees eat and enjoy a legendary tailgate party, Nashville singing sensation, Sugarland, will take the stage to provide an evening of entertainment sure to bring down the house. Event photography will be accessible on the AP stream, searchable by keyword “tailgate,” after approximately 10pm on Saturday, August 20.
NASCAR tailgating tables are available now online at www.lifetime.com. College football tables will be available online and regionally at Sam’s Club starting this fall.

MAKROLON® Polycarbonate Makes Broken Backboards a Thing of the Past
CLEARFIELD, UTAH (January 17, 2005) -- Lifetime Products Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of residential basketball systems, continues it’s “unbreakable” record of innovation by joining with Sheffield Plastics to create a new line of polycarbonate backboards, virtually eliminating the need to replace broken backboards.
The Shatter Guard™ backboard is made with MAKROLON® polycarbonate, making it virtually unbreakable with many times the impact strength of acrylic. Acrylic is an industry standard in clear backboards. The introduction of the Shatter Guard™ backboard featuring MAKROLON® polycarbonate addresses the need to provide a backboard that can withstand rigorous play and neighborhood wear and tear.
“One of the biggest problems with residential basketball standards is broken acrylic backboards,” said Aaron Hill, Director of marketing for Lifetime Products, Inc. “In most cases it is caused by an object such as a rock being thrown at the backboard. This is not generally covered by the warranty, and is very costly to repair. Shatter Guard™ backboards will almost entirely solve these types of problems.”
Each Shatter Guard™ backboard features a sturdy, powder-coated steel frame that provides added rigidity for advanced performance and a pro-glass look. The polycarbonate itself has a patent-pending UV-treatment insures that the backboard won’t yellow or degrade over time. Lifetime is currently the only manufacturer to feature a polycarbonate backboard.
Shatter Guard™ is available on a variety of portable and in-ground basketball systems. The systems are moderately priced and can be found at sporting goods retailers throughout the country. The new backboards featuring Shatter Guard™ polycarbonate were unveiled to retailers and media at the Super Show in Orlando, Florida January 17-19.
Sheffield Plastics Inc., a Bayer Polymers Company, is a recognized market leader in the production of high performance thermoplastic sheet for over fifty years. Together with their global affiliates, Sheffield is the second largest producer of polycarbonate sheet in the world, extruding MAKROLON® polycarbonate resin in several grades targeted for architectural, industrial, commercial, and aerospace markets.

CLEARFIELD, UT (November 19, 2002) -- Entertaining for large groups, be it family affairs or for friends, can be stressful. The logistics alone might be daunting. Where do I seat everyone? Do I have enough chairs? What to do with the food…do I need a buffet? How about a beverage station?
When you need that extra seating, table, or serving buffet, it can be as easy as unfolding some tables and chairs. A good choice is Lifetime® folding tables and chairs because they are durable and sturdy, and so lightweight that you can lift and move them by yourself. The tables are also available in a variety of sizes so you can combine several sizes or shapes to create a unique arrangement for the extra space you need.
With this in mind, here are some of my Party Pointers and Easy Entertaining Ideas that will ensure your next event will be an organized and successful affair.
Setting The Scene:
For large parties of 20, try using two tables in a “T” pattern…great for lively conversation.
Extra seating is a snap with folding chairs
The Lifetime® Adjustable Tables are perfect for a tall Bar…or a low “Kiddie” table.
Easy Entertaining Ideas:
* Pick a “theme” and color to carry throughout your party. Purchase fabrics from outlets, and make your invitations on the computer using colored paper.
Build a beautiful buffet with different heights
Use metal risers, upturned bowls or terracotta pots—covered with cloths, to create different levels.
For larger tables, think BIG for decoration
Big bowls of lemons, tall vases with branches towering over the buffet, big pots of fresh herbs, fruits and flowers
Breads tumbling out of wicker baskets laid on their sides
For a sit down affair centerpiece, bring the outdoors in…arranging branches and leaves (magnolias work great!) down the center of the table, creating a garland effect, then nestle fruits, vegetables and herbs in and around the leaves.
Place votives or tea light candles in juice glasses and tuck into garland. Great solution if you are on a budget.
Try “dressing up” the chairs by wrapping the backs with a complimenting fabric and tie the back with a “nosegay” of leaves and herbs.
Be realistic about what you can and can’t do. If you are on a tight budget, look around you—what is seasonal and accessible. Don’t be afraid to use your imagination! (A bucket of paint and some old sheets can create a wonderful table covering. Or just use giant philodendron leaves to decorate!) It doesn’t have to be expensive, but rather a reflection of you having fun entertaining.
Catering For Company:
Have a good invitation…this sets “the stage” for your party.
Plan the menu two weeks in advance. Do easy “do-ahead” dishes, thinking about the freshest ingredients, balance of flavors and how it will all look on the plate.
Make as much as you can ahead of time and freeze or refrigerate. (Breads, rolls, sauces, etc.)
Find out any dietary restrictions ahead of time and try to accommodate.
Ask someone to help you in the kitchen and with cleanup.
Remember to have good lighting (lots of candles!) and good music.
Plan food and decoration to go with the season.
Buffet food should be easy to eat… “Fork food.”
Have plenty of silverware and glassware.

CLEARFIELD, UT (November 7, 2002) -- Lifetime Products, Inc. asked Americans who they would most like to sit next to at the Thanksgiving dinner table, and the most popular answer was family. Given the opportunity to have a hypothetical “Dinner of a Lifetime” with anyone they wanted, 29% of Americans overlooked celebrities and political figures in favor of their own family members, especially deceased grandparents and long-distance relatives. Another popular choice (22%) was to share Thanksgiving with a historical figure, with Jesus Christ and Abraham Lincoln being the most requested, while 13% of Americans would choose to have a celebrity such as George Clooney or Jennifer Aniston at their table. Of the remaining categories, Rudy Guiliani and Ozzy Osbourne were the most popular choices.
The results were cultivated from a nationwide “Dinner of a Lifetime” essay contest sponsored by Lifetime Products, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic folding tables and chairs. Thanksgiving is traditionally a time when people come together to share a special meal and with this in mind, Lifetime® posed the question: Who would you most like to sit next to at the Thanksgiving dinner table? Contestants composed essays describing a meal with the guest of their choosing, and the essays were evaluated based on originality, creativity, and reasoning.
Kevin Burk of Sioux City, IA is the Grand Prize winner and will receive a trip for four to New
York City over Thanksgiving weekend. Burk described what it would be like to have Thanksgiving
dinner with himself at the age of seven. During their meal, the grown-up Kevin would impart wisdom and worldly advice to little Kevin, as well as encourage him to take the risks that would ultimately lead him to find his future wife.
Ten runners-up received a Lifetime® table and a set of Lifetime® chairs. In alphabetical order, they are Sherri Brinkley of Bonne Terre, MO, who wanted to have dinner with her recently deceased mother, Dave Francis of Edmond, OK (Bill Cosby), Lisa Johnson of Pleasant Grove, UT (her great-grandparents who immigrated to America from the Ukraine), Brenda Jones of Gresham, OR (Benjamin Franklin), Clinton Kelly of Everett, WA (a former neighbor), Barbara LeGrand of LaGrangeville, NY (Abraham Lincoln), Marcy McCabe of Lawrence, KS (her hypothetical future daughter), 13-year-old Kelsey McCallum of Draper, UT (her mom at age 13), Julie Price of Salt Lake City, UT (Dr. Seuss), and L. Sue Schinke of Rochester, MN (her long-lost birthmother).
Thanksgiving is a time when there are always extra faces around the dinner table – and most people, at one time or another, have shared this meal at a spare folding table. Lifetime® products are sturdy, lightweight, and will not crack, chip or peel. Best of all, they are stain resistant and easy to clean – neither turkey gravy nor cranberry sauce will stain Lifetime® tables or chairs.

CLEARFIELD, UT (November 4, 2002) -- Local Iowa resident Kevin Burk was planning to have a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year. That is, until Lifetime Products, Inc. declared him the Grand Prize winner of its nationwide “Dinner of a Lifetime” essay contest. Now this Sioux City computer technical support specialist will be spending Thanksgiving 1,300 miles away from his hometown – and his family could not be more excited!
Burk along with his wife Mary and 15-year-old daughter Katrina will be traveling to New York City for Thanksgiving weekend and staying in a Times Square hotel suite courtesy of Lifetime®. And as part of the Burks’ family trip to the Big Apple they will get to see the Thanksgiving Day parade live for the first time. When Burk found out he won the “Dinner of a Lifetime” contest he said, “This was one of the most creative contests I’ve ever seen. The theme was great. I had a wonderful time writing about it!”

CLEARFIELD, UTAH (August 25, 2002) –Lifetime Products, the world’s leading manufacturer of residential basketball equipment, recently was recognized for it full-color Wal-Mart packaging with a Gravure Association of America’s 2002 Golden Cylinder Award.
The competition promotes the gravure printing process which is an advanced, high-tech printing process utilizing an image carrier and gapless cylinder. According to the Gravure Association of America, the competition also is designed to identify the “Best of the Best” in each segment of the gravure industry and to distinguish technical innovation.
Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) printed Lifetime’s full-color boxes, which were introduced last year. “Printing large photographic images on a kraft paper box is a challenge,” explained Lifetime Marketing Manager Scott Anderson. “We also decided to use metallic ink which made the project even more complicated. PCA did a wonderful job of utilizing the gravure printing process to print a very high-quality, and award-winning, box for us.”

CLEARFIELD, UTAH (July 28, 2002) – Lifetime Products, the world’s leading manufacturer of residential basketball equipment and polyethylene top tables, is now an ISO 9001:2000 registered company.
As an ISO 9001:2000 registered company, Lifetime is required to control processes, maintain quality related records, perform internal quality audits, take corrective action on quality problems, increase quality, and monitor and enhance customer satisfaction. “We’ve been preparing and working towards this registration for over two years,” explained Lifetime Quality Director Shawn Mower. “Becoming ISO 9000 certified is a great accomplishment that will help Lifetime continually improve, enhance customer satisfaction, and gain a competitive edge. The certification also will help us gain business with companies who require vendors to be ISO certified.”
ISO is an international organization that sets standards for companies in various areas. Lifetime is registered as a company that meets ISO standards for quality. To meet these standards, Lifetime employees and processes were audited over a period of five days by representatives from Eagle Registrations. According to Eagle Registrations auditors, Lifetime passed the audit the first time with only five minor non-conformances, a rare achievement for companies the size of Lifetime.
Lifetime’s ISO 9001:2000 status is the newest registration level companies can achieve. Less than 10 companies in Utah hold this exact registration. In addition, Lifetime is also the only ISO registered manufacturer of basketball equipment.
“This is just the beginning phase for us,” explained Mower. “We’ve created and implemented the processes, now we need to continuously follow them to ensure we maintain and improve our quality, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce our costs.” Eagle Registrations will continue to audit Lifetime every six months to ensure Lifetime is meeting ISO standards.

CLEARFIELD, UT (June 1, 2002) -- Summer is here and the entertaining is easy! Or so it should be. As you jump into the pool, enjoy the endless sun-filled days and gather with friends and family the goal in mind should be EASY. The easiest way to entertain this summer is to focus on fresh, simple and uncomplicated ideas.
Invariably it always happens…friends and their kids drop-in for a visit, it gets to be late in the afternoon, everyone is hungry and you invite the whole gang to stay for dinner. What to serve? Here are some simple tips and ideas for easy, stress-free entertaining during the summer months.
Extra service and seating is imperative, so get a couple of Lifetime Banquet Tables, one for serving, one for extra seating. Have a cupboard devoted to your summer entertaining accessories, be they paper goods or plastic ware. Keep everything in one place so it is readily available for impromptu parties. Make sure it is stocked with napkins, plates, flatware, glassware, votive candles and a tablecloth. Invest in two glass-bottomed hurricanes…they are perfect for big, fat candles, flowers or a collection of shells and can be used throughout the year. Now, set up your Lifetime Table, top it with a colorful cloth or placemats and you are ready to go!
Impromptu entertaining is fun when you are well prepared with fast food tips.
Keeps these on hand for quick meals during the summer:
A couple of good bottled marinades for chicken, beef or fish
Individually wrapped, frozen boneless chicken breasts, small steaks, seasoned hamburger patties
Frozen hamburger buns
Packaged pasta or rice
Packaged salads
Toasted pinenuts, made ahead and frozen
Good bottled salad dressings
A loaf of garlic bread, frozen
Parmesan cheese
2 quarts of your favorite ice cream
Graham cracker pie shell (or chocolate pie shell)
Chocolate and caramel sauce
Frozen whipped topping
“Emergency Munchies:” peanuts, chili-lime chips, salsa, pretzels, etc.
For the kids, thaw the hamburgers and buns. Toss the burgers on the grill. Serve with chips and salsa, fresh fruit and cookies.
For the adults, marinate chicken breasts, small steaks or fish (that has been thawed in the microwave) for about 15 minutes. Grill. Serve with a salad made from pre-packaged greens, adding pinenuts, Parmesan and veggies. Toss with your favorite dressing. Pop the garlic bread in the broiler.
For dessert, fill a graham cracker pie shell with ice cream and freeze. Serve with choice of toppings. Hint: make a couple of pies ahead of time & freeze. Instant dessert!
Now, sit back, take in that fresh summer air, linger around your Lifetime table with family and friends, and enjoy!

Lifetime Products Donates Tables
CLEARFIELD, UTAH (September 20, 2001) – Lifetime Products Inc., a local manufacturer of folding tables and picnic tables, has donated over 20 tables to Ogden School District. The tables will help provide additional workspace for students who are being merged into Edison Elementary due to the recent fire that destroyed Lincoln Elementary.
“This was a natural fit for Lifetime,” said Lifetime Products Communications Manager Jan Claborn. “We are the world’s largest manufacturer of folding tables, and we are based right here in Clearfield, Utah. To be able to step in and help a local organization that is in such a desperate, tragic situation is what being a good neighbor is all about.”
Lifetime Products donated eleven 4’ adjustable folding tables and eleven 5’ adjustable folding tables to the school. Both types of tables are constructed of high-impact polyethylene that will not crack, chip or peel, and are stain resistant. The tables also exceed strict industry safety standards. Claborn explained that the folding adjustable tables are perfect for all ages of Edison Elementary student use since they adjust in height from 23” to 29” to 36”.
“Lifetime’s donation has helped us out immensely,” said Ogden School donation coordinator Debby Gomberg. “The adjustable tables are so versatile and lightweight that we plan to use them as temporary classroom desks and computer desks for the students, as well as storage space for the teachers. Since we can raise and lower the tables to various heights, they easily can be used by both the younger and older students.”

CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 13, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., leading manufacturer of polyethylene furniture, was awarded Best of Show from Design Journal for the original design of the Lifetime Folding Chair featured at NeoCon 2000.
The chair, chosen from hundreds of new products at NeoCon, was selected based on its form, functionality and overall style.
"We believe that the design of Lifetime's Folding Chair is not only pleasing to the eye, but is obviously stronger and more comfortable than what is currently out there," says Mike Campbell, Best of Show Director.
The chair is blow-molded of high-density polyethylene, with a rounded seat and higher back providing sculpted comfort.
"Traditional chairs are actually flat, with padding that is too thin to make a real difference in comfort," says Eric Szymanski, Market Research Manager. "Lifetime's Folding Chair has a curved back and seat. The contours are designed in a way that no padding is needed."
The chair's frame is composed of powder-coated oval tubing for increased strength. Industrial-strength leg caps insert directly into the oval tubing, rather than over the end. This innovation prevents the cap from falling off, a common occurrence in typical folding chairs.
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 13, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer and innovator of home basketball equipment, has brought portability to a new level with the Navigator Portable Base, proving that not all portable systems are created equal.
The Navigator comes equipped with a streamlined handle that is designed to fasten to the basketball pole. When pulled down, the handle engages a caster wheel on the front of the base allowing the entire system to rotate a full 360 degrees.
"Lifetime has taken a good idea and made it great," says Marketing Director Aaron Hill. "The Navigator is portability made easy. It allows a person to move and position a system without having to tip it. You simply pull, position and play."
Portable basketball systems currently on the market require a player to tilt the system and maneuver it by grabbing the rim and dragging. In some instances, larger competing portable systems are too heavy to tip and require siphoning out the water or using a shop vacuum to remove the sand.
"With new Navigator technology, a player is able to move a large portable system without the annoyance of having to empty the ballast," says Hill.
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 13, 2000 -- Since its beginning in 1986, Lifetime Products has helped children get off the couch and in the game with quality residential basketball equipment, believing that a healthy lifestyle is an essential part of a child's success. Lifetime continues this philosophy with the Shoot Case® mini-basketball set, a toy designed to help children five and up become active.
In a report conducted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) it was stated that 12 percent of all teenagers are overweight, and the number of teenagers participating in physical fitness activities has declined by 22 percent.
Lifetime has taken these statistics seriously and produced a mini-basketball set designed for children as young as five to shoot hoops for fun and exercise.
"Our goal is to give young children the equipment they need to become active before they hit the teenage years," says Executive Vice President Brent Allen. "Statistics prove that children who are active in their formative years continue to be active as teens and adults."
The Shoot Case mini-basketball set comes complete in an easy-to-carry case, lightweight enough to take and set up anywhere. It is modeled after a full-size system with a breakaway rim and steel poles.
"We feel that this new version of a high-quality junior-size system is great for sporting goods retailers," says International Division Vice President Richard Hendrickson. "It has the features of a full-size system, including a breakaway rim and powder-coated poles, making it more realistic for kids."
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 13, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., has launched Mammoth Basketball Equipment, a brand of high-performance basketball systems dedicated to the sheer strength and power of arena-style play with exclusive innovations.
Mammoth Basketball Equipment is comprised of three massive bolt-down units, each housing a series of never-before-seen features that provide the purist of the game with strength and stability, as well as a sense of grandeur.
Lifetime, a leader in home basketball equipment with an established reputation for quality mid-grade basketball systems, named the new stand-alone brand for its enormous size and enhanced attributes. Initial thoughts were to promote the brand under the Lifetime umbrella, but Lifetime believed that "Mammoth" better exemplified the characteristics of the equipment.
"The Lifetime brand is to basketball what Honda is to cars. Both very reliable and trustworthy," says Lifetime Marketing Director Aaron Hill. "Mammoth, on the other hand, is the Mercedes-Benz of basketball equipment. The embodiment of strength, dependability and quality."
Mammoth exclusive innovations include the patent-pending Rapid-Cam Adjustment System. Consisting of dual air shocks, counter-balance springs and twin-cams, the system makes lifting and lowering the backboard smooth and effortless.
"Rapid-Cam is another instance of Lifetime recognizing home basketball industry demands and relentlessly pursuing a qualified answer," says Communications Manager Darcie Liptrot. "The system allows even small players to adjust a 350-pound backboard instantly and without strain."
The Mammoth brand is a progressive strategy addressing the recent surge in high-end basketball systems.
"Upper-end systems have become a significant part of the basketball equipment business. Today consumers are investing in units that are loaded with features that didn't sell five years ago," says Hill.
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 11, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., leader in polyethylene furniture, has taken the same breakthrough technology used in creating a better folding table and applied it to the design of a new folding chair, providing consumers with greater strength, durability and comfort.
Blow-molded of high-density polyethylene, Lifetime's folding chair offers sculpted comfort with a rounded seat and higher back. The chair's frame is composed of powder-coated oval tubing for increased strength. These innovations are greatly needed modernizations of the conventional metal folding chair with padding.
"Traditional chairs are actually flat, with padding that is too thin to make a real difference in comfort," says Eric Szymanski, associate manager of Market Research. "The Lifetime folding chair has a curved back and seat. The contours are designed in a way that no padding is needed."
The chair features industrial-strength leg caps with grip-tight ribbing. The leg caps insert directly into the oval tubing, rather than over the end. This innovation prevents the cap from falling off, a common occurrence in typical folding chairs.
Lifetime's folding chair exceeds rigorous BIFMA standards for safety, durability and structural adequacy, and is backed by a ten-year manufacturer's warranty. It will be available in the first quarter of 2001, and made in the USA.
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 11, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., leader for many years in the home basketball industry, dominates the lawn and garden industry with its introduction of quality craftsmanship and polyethylene technology.
In 1986, Lifetime made its mark manufacturing basketball equipment constructed of steel and blow-molded polyethylene. The innovative combination proved to be successful, with sales growing 69 percent overall in the first six years of production. An extraordinary beginning for owners Barry and Kathy Mower, who began the business in the garage of their own home.
Having gained expertise in metals and plastics, and with a noticeable down-curve in sporting goods, Lifetime believed it was time to expand beyond basketball and take its core technologies to a new forum. In 1994, the first fully-assembled, folding picnic table hit the market. This never-before-seen technology modernized traditional picnic tables constructed of wood.
"Lifetime created a folding picnic table that is lightweight, yet extremely durable and sturdy," says Communications Manager Darcie Liptrot. "This innovation on the wooden picnic table proved to be a real breakthrough, not only technologically but for consumers as well."
Lifetime's folding picnic table requires no maintenance. There is no need for sanding or staining, and the patented design allows the table to fold flat for quick and easy storage. Because the polyethylene top and benches and powder-coated frame are weather-resistant, both indoor and outdoor use is ideal.
"Lifetime is very fortunate," says Marketing Director Aaron Hill. "To be able to step into an industry and revolutionize the market with such innovative technology is an incredible feat."
CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 11, 2000 -- Lifetime Products, Inc., leader in the folding table industry, introduces a line of folding tables that are tailored for the commercial market, while costing less than all other comparable tables.
As the dominant brand in the consumer industry, Lifetime is broadening its office offerings to meet the needs of rigorous industrial use. Advantage Commercial Folding Tables exceed challenging BIFMA standards for safety, durability and structural adequacy, and are priced around 50 percent less than competing ABS tables.
"Lifetime has produced a folding table that has excelled in whatever channel of distribution it has been placed," says Eric Szymanski associate manager of Market Research. "Our original table, which is the best-selling folding table available at retail, has been fine-tuned for the demands of the commercial industry, and is being offered at a compelling price."
Advantage tabletops are blow-molded of high-density polyethylene and are stronger, lighter and more durable than wood. They will not chip, crack or peel, and can be used indoors or out.
The improved frame design integrates the perimeter channels, center supports, and legs to create a sturdier and more stable foundation. This leg-to-table connection prevents the bracing from being ripped from the tabletop, a common occurrence with wood tables.
"The leg-to-table connection is a feature offered only by Lifetime. This connection gives our table a longer life," says Clint Morris, sales manager for Lifetime Products. "All other manufacturers attach the legs and bracing directly to the underside of the table. In time, the bolts are stripped from the wood and the table is destroyed."
Lifetime's Advantage Commercial Folding Tables are backed by a five-year manufacturer's warranty and are made in the USA.
